There is no substitute they say. The 911 is an icon in the world of sports cars and this version that we bring you here is the most complete. It has the best attributes of the German sports car, but with the possibility of enjoying it under the open sky. Also the all-wheel drive for that extra performance and safety on the road, in addition to an automatic transmission for ease of driving in any circumstance and incidentally guarantee the best performance without giving up changing gears at our whim. This Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabrio has it all.

Wider, faster

When Porsche designs a new generation, it always takes the best of the old as its starting point and makes it essential in the next. However, here we have one more step and superior traction. The all-wheel drive 911 Carrera 4S differs from the rear-wheel drive versions thanks to 22 millimeters wider fins on the rear axle, where there are also 10 mm wider tires. Its sensual and sporty general lines remain unchanged, being recognizable as 911 from the first moment. But in the rear the two headlights of the all-wheel drive model are joined by a red strip.

This version of the legendary Porsche 911 has all-wheel drive in which the distribution of torque always prevails on the rear axle under normal conditions. If it sees fit, the system will redirect more torque to the front axle. Despite this system it is still more efficient in consumption than the previous model since this generation of the 911 weighs less than the previous one thanks to its steel and aluminum chassis, in all it is 50 kilos less in weight.

In terms of the engine, Porsche incorporates a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer in S versions like this one, which produces 400 hp at 7.400 rpm and 440 Nm of torque at 5.600 rpm. The aforementioned all-wheel drive and the combination with the seven-speed dual-clutch PDK automatic transmission, results in an incredible acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 4,5 seconds.

But uncontrolled power is useless and this Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Convertible has better brakes than a normal Carrera. The front calipers are six-piston decorated in red and made of aluminum, and the discs are 340 mm in diameter, 10 mm more.

Technology to be more precise

It also has technical solutions so that driving is not only pleasant, but controlled at a fast pace so that we can enjoy its sporting features even more. The 911 carries the PDCC or Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control system to control body roll. For the torque to be the best at all times, there is the Porsche Torque Vectoring, and for the suspension to respond on all types of surfaces and conditions, there is the PASM, which can carry a Plus version that lowers the body height by another 10 mm.

If we want to enjoy the sound of our open-air boxer engine, the textile material hood of the 911 Carrera 4S Cabrio folds in 13 seconds, an operation that we can execute up to 50 km / h. To put it back, the same time and conditions are required. Of course Porsche includes insulation to match, and with it on it will be almost like going in a coupe.

Inside, quality and design accompany the elegant and sporty aesthetic. This generation of the 911 included as a novelty an instrumentation accompanied by a 4,6-inch screen. With it we can control the data of the trip computer, the multimedia system, the navigation or see in real time how much torque is sent to each axis. It has double xenon headlights, the handbrake is already electric and there are paddles on the steering wheel, dual zone climate control, and a central console with the main buttons for each function, including the magic button, the "Sport" button with which it is accentuated engine response and suspension stiffens.
